The way you say it, especially with the angelic smile, melts everything around. Seriously, how do you do it boy?

Good demon
Exasperated with my little one's behavior, I asked why he was being so naughty. He said "Sorry mama (he is so good at it now) I will be a good demon". Good demon?? He got me laughing in a second.

Omni wearing glasses
Remembered this cute little incident that I thought should be recorded. This happened when Sid was around 18 months old and getting better with his vocabulary. He pointed at a white omni van and said "car has kannada(glasses)" It took a while for me to see through his eyes and note that the white omni did look like it was wearing black glasses(bumper) on its eyes (headlights).
Sid, you do make me see everything with a fresh pair of eyes. Now I don't fail to observe the colorful butterflies, trees, painted houses, cars or cranes/diggers/tankers/trailers all thanks to you. Makes me wonder if they even existed before you were born. Or may be I should say, did I ever 'live the moment' to see and wonder at them before you came into my life.

New Year Happenings
New Year dawned with Sid wishing Happy New Year to everyone and anyone for almost a fortnight :) and our visits to the eye doctor. First it was the Papa with an eye injury, next Sid with a cold- eye infection and then self with an allergy. Luckily we got over it all with vision intact :)
End of January saw Sid having a nice time when his grandparents came. Loads of home made mysore-pak ensured that our (my?) "health" was improved.
Random musing -You slog for couple of months to lose a couple of kilos, your mom arrives and sees that you gain 4 in 4 days! ...Phew!

Cranes
One fine morning, when I was busy in the kitchen,
Sid: Mamma play with me..
Me: (Gave him a steel glass and tongs) Sid, why don't you play with this? See you can lift the glass using these.
Sid found it quite interesting and started playing with it. After a while.
Me: (Happy seeing him play on his own) What are you doing Sid?
Sid: Lifting the glass with the "crane"
Me: ?!

Keep it simple silly!
One day, on our monthly visit to a grocery shop, I was pushing the big cart around buying the needful. Sid followed me with his small cart. There were a few people chattering happily (probably friends meeting after a long time) between aisles blocking our way. My polite "excuse me" fell on deaf ears. While I was wondering how to interrupt and move ahead, my little one made this loud "pom pom pom ... car is coming" sound. Everyone (including me) gave way promptly.
Do I need to write what I felt ;-)

Horlicks
Sid loves Horlicks. He can have it anytime of the day. This one thing he has taken after me.
Grandma on phone: Sid, how are you?
Sid: I am not fine.
Grandma on phone: (obviously concerned) Why? What happened?
Sid: because (he now answers any "why" question with a because) no Horlicks!
After this incident, my mom makes it a point to check with me if I gave Sid his Horlicks.
Sid now understands that when we visit a friend/relatives house they as good hosts, give us tea/milk. So after a formal 5 minute settling time in a new house, he openly asks where his "Horlicks" is. The host is then obliged to give us one ;-)
